A day in the life of...Jo Lambert, PPC Manager at Molzi.

Jo Lambert is Molzi’s PPC Manager, with a history of creating Google ad campaigns before joining Molzi, her Pay-Per-Click skills are second to none! Find out what the self-proclaimed Queen of Ads had to say about her job as part of the ever-expanding team of Molzi.
What does a typical working day look like?

My days consists of reviewing advertising campaigns, optimising and checking search terms, writing up internal and external reports, producing advertising strategies for our clients and, perhaps most importantly, communicating with the Account Management team. No day is ever really the same though, my duties vary depending on the situation.

What kind of skills do you tend to use daily?

Depending on the job, I use a mixture of data analysis, proactivity to foresee trends/certain circumstances and generally common sense. Obviously, when dealing with advertising campaigns, I need to have mathematical skills in order to budget strategically. However, even though PPC may seem cold and analytical, you also need to have a creative eye to decide the specific words and images to use in a campaign.

What is the best part of your day?

Simple, it has to be when we put a strategy in place and it takes off! The best part is when you get to show the client just how great it went and they are over the moon. It truly feels like you have accomplished something that you can show to your client and that they can brag about to their bosses.

What is the worst part of your day?

When I realise I forgot to pay for my parking at the end of the day.

What is the one key issue that you have noticed from your job that brands struggle with the most?

The understanding that advertising is not an overnight achievement. Making any changes takes time to have any affect.

How best can they fix it?

Actually I feel like part of my job is to help them understand this, I try to be as transparent as I can regarding when they might start to see some results so all it takes is some patience.

What do you love most about working at Molzi?

I love the people! They are all such a great bunch of talented people. I also love that there is a sense of complete trust in one another to get the job done and that I am able to bring my dog, Albie, in when I need to. However, I think that there is room for me to grow my skills is also a major pro. There’s so much to mention! I really love my job at Molzi.
